The Ancient City Poets will host a community open mic poetry reading on Sunday October 30th from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Corazon Cinema and Cafe (36 Granada Street, St. Augustine, across from the Lightner Museum).
Saint Augustine Speaks is an open mic series that offers poets of all skill levels an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience. The microphone will be turned on at 3:00 pm and all are encouraged to share their own poems or works from their favorite writers. There will be a "Scary Literary" theme to mark the "Spirit" of the Halloween season for this reading. Feel free to come dressed in your favorite costume and share your words with the audience. Attendees do not have to stick to this theme to share their work. The gatherings are held "renga style" with no emcee or sign-up sheet and end when everyone has had an opportunity to share.

Our readings are free and open to everyone in the community. We do ask that you consider patronizing the Corazon and thank them for opening their doors to poetry and spoken word. Their full cafe menu will be available during the event so please come prepared to buy a sandwich, beverage, or sweet treat. Here is the menu:
