The Ancient City Poets will host a community open mic reading on Sunday June 26th from 3:00 to 4:30 at Corazon Cinema and Cafe (36 Granada Street, across from the Lightner Museum) in sunny St. Augustine, Florida. Saint Augustine Speaks is an open mic series that offers poets of all skill levels an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience. The microphone will be turned on at 3:00 pm and all are encouraged to share their own poems or works from their favorite writers. There will be a "Beginnings" theme for this reading as an ode to where we all got our start, with our parents and guardians as we are in the season of Mothers' and Fathers' Days. The theme will also be in celebration of Ancient City Poets' new beginning at Corazon. Attendees do not have to stick to this theme to share their work. The gatherings are held "renga style" with no emcee or sign-up sheet and end when everyone has had an opportunity to share.
