A book celebration will be held for Florida Speaks at 3:00 pm at City Coffee (located at 1280 N. Ponce de Leon Boulevard, near the Village Inn). The anthology features three dozen writers musing on the subject of the Sunshine State. Featuring a foreword by Glenda Bailey-Mershon and photos by nature photographer LeeAnn Kendall, this Poet Plant Press print book looks at Florida from all angles. Local contributors will be on hand to read their work and sign copies. Confirmed readers include: Michael Henry Lee, Wayne Mason, Ray Nielson, Dotty Loop, Kimmy Van Kooten, Glenda Bailey-Mershon, Tovah Janovsky, and Terence Conway. Any poet who is not in the book is welcome to share their Florida poems during the first 45 minutes. Book signing and author "Meet & Greet" to follow. Funding for Florida Speaks was made possible with the support of the St. johns Cultural Council, serving St Johns County, and the State of the Arts License Plate Program. This is a free event open to all poets and poetry lovers.
In closing, here is a Spotify playlist of song and sounds that relate to "February" and this long winter season. Winter IS here. Maybe a song or a lyric will inspire you to write a poem about winter. Stay warm. Febuary Air
